Martyn has been involved in teaching since the mid 1990s and spent 20 years at Warwick School as HOD Computer Science and managing their digital learning strategy. In 2022 he moved to the National Mathematics and Science College where he is currently Vice Principal (Academic & Technology). With this role his passion for technology now flows clearly across both the academic side and the infrastructure side of the college.
Martyn is the Subject Advocate for AQA Computer Science and is often seen presenting at conferences, running master-classes at schools and offering support to centres looking to develop their computer science offering.
The area of functional programming is something that brings together a passion of mathematics and computer science and Martyn works with the Functional Programming and Computer Algebra working group of the ATM (Association of Teacher of Mathematics).
