Eastbourne College

Founded over 150 years ago, today Eastbourne College reaches out like never before, connecting its boarding and day pupils with a raft of opportunities. The College’s learning environment is second to none thanks to a recently completed £33 million development, an outstanding, supportive house system, and a timetable which optimises educational contact time, provides guided optional Saturday morning enrichment sessions, and promotes a busy calendar of competitive sport and time to socialise.

Additional Information

The Learning Enrichment Department works closely with housemasters and housemistresses, parents, pupils, teachers and tutors to ensure appropriate support strategies are in place.

Of the four Learning Enrichment teachers, two specialise in literacy and two in science and maths. One has particular experience in supporting pupils with ADHD, another in supporting ASD pupils, and 2 have dyslexia training.

SUPPORTING EXCELLENCE

Eastbourne College believes exceptional talent should be supported and nurtured. The College believes that the major contribution we can make to scholars is the development of their specialism through tailored provision and support. We have strong programmes in place for scholars of all disciplines to develop their talents and help them to inspire those around them.

In order to access bursary support a pupil must also be in receipt of a scholarship award. This process of “dual-qualification” ensures that our capacity for fee remission is focused on prospective pupils with exceptional talents who would not otherwise be in a position to access our educational opportunities.
