Heathfield School in Ascot, Berkshire, is a leading independent girls’ school which offers an exceptional education for girls aged 11-18. The school is set in 36 acres of beautiful grounds just 30 miles from central London, close to major transport hubs in and around the capital including Heathrow Airport.
It offers weekly and full boarding - including an exciting programme of weekend activities – and day places.
The school has a fine history stretching back to 1899 when it was founded by an early female education pioneer Miss Eleanor Wyatt with the intention that London girls could come to Ascot for an education ‘so they would know what it is to see the sky’. Since then the school has educated thousands of young women from the UK and overseas and has become recognised as one of the finest girls’ schools in the UK with a reputation for outstanding pastoral care and excellent exam results.
Famous alumnae include the award-winning actress Sienna Miller, interior designer Nina Campbell and former Chief Executive of Jimmy Choo Tamara Mellon.
The school is nationally famous for its award-winning Art and Design Department and in 2016, a state of the art STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Maths) facility was opened at the school by world-renowned scientist Lord Robert Winston.
Past pupils have gone on to study Chemistry at Oxford, acting at RADA, Photography in New York, a doctorate in Philosophy at UCL and a Polar Explorer.
The school is headed by Marina Gardiner Legge, formerly Director of Studies, whose ambition to drive forwards academic standards at Heathfield has led to a fifth of girls in the Sixth Form applying to Oxbridge this year.
In 2015, every girl got into her first choice of university, the majority of them to Russell Group universities, with over 40% taking the top A*-A grades – while the school is ranked in the top 17% of all UK schools for adding value to a girl’s academic school career.
Heathfield is also the only school in the UK to have an official partnership with the prestigious London College of Fashion and has won five Good Schools Guide awards in a row for its A Level results in Art and Design (Photography).
On the sporting field, Heathfield competes successfully in a variety of sports including Lacrosse, Netball, Athletics, Swimming, Tennis and Equestrian disciplines including Polo. At team and individual level, Heathfield girls have had county, regional and national success.
Sporting facilities are first class and include a swimming pool complex, sports hall and fitness studio.
The school also has a professional standard theatre which reflects the strong dramatic and musical tradition of the school. An annual school production involves the majority of the school with regular Music and Drama concerts throughout the year and an annual fashion show.
Termly open days are held and private visits can also be arranged. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
