ISC response to the Demos and the Scouts Association report, Learning by Doing

Julie Robinson, General Secretary, Independent Schools Council, said
“The Learning by Doing report is right to identify the importance of extra-curricular activities at developing character.
“Independent schools have long recognised the value and importance of extra-curricular activities at developing qualities like resilience, leadership, team working and empathy in pupils. 93% of Independent schools work in partnership with state schools and their local communities and many offer just these sorts of activities, including sport, CCF, music and drama and our schools are keen to do more.”
