NEU conference: Schools are being “silenced” by new political impartiality guidance, members warn
General educationDelegates at the National Education Union's (NEU) annual conference have passed a motion labelling government guidance on political impartiality in schools an “attempt to suppress critical debates”. By Will Hazell, iNews.
NEU members have called for anti-racism training for teachers and new government guidance advising that police should only get involved in schools as a last resort, after a 15-year-old black schoolgirl, known as Child Q, was strip-searched at a London school in 2020.
