Breakdown showing fee assistance for the academic year 18 -19’s intake into Year 7 and sixth form: 10% new pupils received some form of fee support. Out of these the split was as follows: 60% had 100% of their fees paid for and 40% had between 50-99% of their fees covered. All of these awards are means-tested. Bursary support with school fees CLSG is committed to maintaining a broad socio-economic student base reflective of the diversity we see in London by offering eligible parents/guardians means-tested financial support with school fees. To this end we have recently extended the bursary scales to ensure that we are able to also support families in the squeezed middle. Please do ask if you are not sure if you would be eligible for bursary support. The school offers a number of bursaries which are all means-tested. These are available for new entrants to the School when they join Year 7, and sixth form. These awards vary from 25% to 100% of the tuition fees. Last year, CLSG offered mean-tested bursaries to around 10% of its intake that year. Typically we would aim to offer the equivalent of 3 or 4 full fee equivalent bursaries at 16+ and around 7 full fee equivalent bursaries at 11+ entry points each year. CLSG has separate bursarial funds to provide assistance to current parents where there has been an unforeseen change in financial circumstances. Such awards are subject to agreement by the Board of Governors. This scheme can be applied for at any time for existing parents. For an initial discussion and further details please contact the Bursar directly. To apply for a means-tested bursary for new entrants you will need to register your interest in being considered for a Bursary during the admissions process in autumn 2019. Registration of interest is done via our Pre-Exam Information questionnaire which is sent to all parents who have registered their daughter to join the school in September 2020 at either the 11+ or 16+ entry points. Applications forms will then be sent to you before the admissions exam. Completed forms should only be returned if your daughter is invited to interview after she has sat our entrance examination. We may contact you for further information or clarifications of the information provided. Parents will be notified if they have been awarded bursary support at the same time as an offer is made so that they are clear of the basis on which an offer is being made. All bursary applications are subject to annual means-testing and may be varied upwards or downwards depending on parental circumstances and financial information provided on review. Further information of our bursary support and confirmation of key dates can be found on our website by following this link: https://www.clsg.org.uk/fees For those pupils in receipt of a full bursary, support is also available to help with school uniform costs, travel costs to school and the cost of some mandatory school trips. Scholarships CLSG offers scholarships to pupils who have shown particular academic aptitude or talent, in art, music, drama and PE. Assessment for these scholarships is done during the interview process and will include consideration of references that you submit. Details of the scholarships can be found on our website https://www.clsg.org.uk/fees and information on the assessment process is given in the Pre-Exam Information questionnaire sent to all parents who have registered their daughter to join the School in September 2020 at either the 11+ or 16+ entry points. Typically we award one PE, Art and Drama scholarship at 11+ and 16+ entry points as well as a couple of Music scholarships. Each scholarship is worth a maximum of £1500 but may be split and offered to more than one student. Honorary scholarship may also be awarded. A set of free music lessons may also be awarded as part of the scholarship awards. Some pupils may be awarded both a scholarship and a bursary.
