Director of Digital Strategy, Radley College

Richard has been instrumental in introducing digital strategies in both his previous role at Brighton College and now at Radley College over the past 10 years. From implementing large scale system changes through to training staff across the workforce, he has worked with a variety of industries to achieve the appropriate uses of technology. As a Microsoft Innovative Education Expert of 8 years and an Apple Distinguished Educator, he has experience of deploying BYOD and One-To-One device projects, advocating a device-agnostic approach. He has presented at many conferences from Microsoft's E3, to BETT and the ISBA. He has a particular interest in the use of data driven analytics and how teachers and schools can use it in a meaning way.

Presenting on topics such as "Device Dilemma" and "To VLE or not to VLE" like many in the sector he is often a port of call for colleagues to discuss the onboarding of projects and is not afraid to go against the grain if there is a danger of using technology for the sake of it. He is almost evangelical about digital inking and its importance in the development of pupils and as a key skill, expecting it to become the most common input method (if it isn't already).

Given his experience in boarding, Richard sits on the ISC Safeguarding group to advise from a digital perspective to help keep up with the rapidly changing landscape facing pastoral leaders across the sector.
