Scholarships are awarded to pupils for Year 7 entry demonstrating outstanding achievement, talent and/or potential in a certain subject area. Scholarships are awarded solely on merit and are assessed through competitive examinations and interview.
Subject specific Scholarships are awarded to pupils joining in Year 7 in Music, Art, Science or Sport.
Colchester High School also offers an Academic Scholarship and separate English and Mathematics Scholarships for pupils who have scored highly in a School assessment.
In addition, the school may offer a discretionary award or Scholarship to any a pupil in the Senior School if the pupil displays exceptional academic ability or strength in one of the subject specific areas.
