ISC Daily News Summary

Privacy notice

The Independent Schools Council (ISC) is a membership association made up of schools within membership of one of the five Heads’ associations. ISC is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, registered with Companies House (registered number 1103760).

This privacy notice is intended to cover emails sent by ISC to individuals signed up to receive ISC’s Daily News Summary.

What we collect and what we use it for

When you sign up to the Daily News Summary you will provide the following data to us: - full name - email address

This information will be used to email you the Daily News Summary that you have signed up to receive.

Sharing your data

We will not share your data with others, except where this is required with third party processors for the purpose of receiving the Daily News Summary that you have signed up to. Your information will not be used for marketing purposes.

Lawful basis under GDPR and retention

ISC is relying on ‘legitimate interests’ to send you emails with the Daily News Summary as you have provided your contact information for this purpose. We keep your details in an active status for as long as you are subscribed to the Daily News Summary. If you decide that you no longer wish to receive these newsletters and alerts, you can unsubscribe by using the link at the bottom of ISC emails. Alternatively you can email web@isc.co.uk or write to the Independent Schools Council, First Floor 27 Queen Anne’s Gate, London SW1H 9BU to have your details removed (except to the extent that we need to keep them in a suppression list to prevent us from emailing you in the future).

Your rights in relation to this data and how to contact us

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679) and the UK Data Protection Act 2018, you have certain rights associated with the use of your data.

You can also make a referral to or lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
