Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

In previous reports, ISC has provided information on the ADR directive.

In June and August’s reports ISC provided information on the ADR directive and the impact that it will have on schools. Although it is not mandatory to engage in ADR, the information requirements contained within the Directive mean that schools will be required, in the event that they are unable to resolve a contractual dispute with a parent, to signpost parents towards a relevant certified ADR provider and state whether or not they intend to make use of ADR in that particular instance. The information obligations came into force on 1 October 2015
