New EEA prohibition check
ISC issued an alert on 20 January regarding a new check that schools may now carry out to check whether a teacher has been barred by an EEA authority.
This check is not currently a legal or ISI compliance requirement. However, schools are now able to check EEA authority restrictions in force by accessing the ‘teachers prohibited from the profession’ list. From the end of February, EA Online will be amended to include a separate EEA sanction list. The DfE have stated that KCSIE will be updated to reflect this new check in due course.
