Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA)
The Inquiry continues and all schools need to ensure that you are prepared by conducting an internal review of all documentation to ensure that there is access to any information which may be relevant for the inquiry.
Such documents include details of past pupils and staff, current and past policies relating to safeguarding, details of any allegations or knowledge of individuals who had been suspected of child abuse and any correspondence from any internal investigations. You need to review your archive. It may also be helpful for you to maintain a record of your schools’ past insurers. We would encourage all schools regardless of whether you are aware of any issues arising to ensure that documentation is in order in case of a need to respond to any calls for evidence.
