The Regulation of Childcare Consultation (closed)
The Government published their response to the 2013 consultation on the Regulation of Childcare. Revised regulations and EYFS framework are expected in April 2014. Once published, ISC will work with nursery and pre-prep experts to ensure that the revisions are suitable.
Management of independent schools consultation: proposed regulations
DfE has launched a public consultation on regulations to be made under s.128 of the Education and Skills Act 2008. These will enable individuals to be barred from management positions in independent schools. ISC will be responding to the consultation on behalf of the sector; however schools are encouraged to respond should they wish to. The consultation documents can be found here. The closing date for the consultation is Thursday 10 April 2014.
Supporting pupils at school with medical conditions
DfE has published a consultation on supporting pupils at school with medical conditions. The consultation includes a mix of statutory guidance for governing bodies of maintained school and proprietors of academies in England and non-statutory advice for schools, academies, local authorities, CCGs, parents and carers. ISC will be submitting a response to the consultation and the closing date is Friday 14 March 2014.
DfE Policy Statement on 16-18 Core Maths Qualifications consultation
DfE has launched an informal consultation on the DfE Policy Statement on 16-18 Core Maths Qualifications. The primary purpose of the consultation is to receive expert views from schools with an interest in post-16 policy on the proposed characteristics of new ‘Core Maths’ qualifications. The closing date is Monday 3 March 2014.
