First aid qualifications
The government is consulting the childcare sector, health professionals, parents and local authorities in England.
This consultation is on proposals for newly qualified level 2 or 3 early years staff to hold a paediatric first aid certificate before they can be included in the adult: child ratios in an early years setting. This proposal would be in addition to existing EYFS requirements.
The consultation closes on 10 December 2015.
