| Other Information: | CReSTeD produces a register of schools approved for their provision for dyslexic children. The aim is to help parents and those who advise them to choose a school that has been shown to meet agreed criteria. A school that is registered with CReSTeD is recognised as a school with excellent dyslexia provision. The majority of schools in the Register are mainstream schools that also offer help to dyslexic pupils within or alongside their mainstream provision. Schools are divided into four categories that are designed to help parents match their child’s needs to an appropriate philosophy and provision. Schools wishing to be included in the Register are visited by a CReSTeD consultant whose report is considered by the CReSTeD Council before registration can be finalised. CReSTeD was established in 1989 with the support of the British Dyslexia Association and Dyslexia Action. The list of schools on the website is updated each term. Further information may be obtained by contacting CReSTeD on 01242 604852, by email at admin@crested.org.uk, or visit the website at www.crested.org.uk. |
