The Game as an Educational Tool - Mind Lab workshop
In this 2 hour workshop, designed for teachers and educators, participants experience the Mind Lab method and the rationale behind it. The participants will engage in a discussion about the importance of the game as a high powered educational tool and the range of skills that can be developed through games (cognitive, social, emotional and ethical).
In the example Mind Lab class, participants will learn and play one of the games in the Mind Lab curriculum and discuss the strategies connected with this game. Participants will be exposed to an example of a Mind Lab thinking model and strategy and discuss real examples of transference (i.e. utilising this tool in their day to day lives).
In the closing discussion, participants will review what they have learnt and examine how they can apply what they have learned and experienced to their own educational environments.
