Public Benefit: moving forwards

ISC hosted a series of seminars at the end of June, focusing on how the expected changes to the Charity Commission’s public benefit guidelines are likely to affect charitable schools in general and individual schools in particular. Each of the three days was well attended, with delegates from over 100 ISC member schools, and the feedback from delegates was excellent.

The Opening Address was given by Matthew Burgess, ISC’s General Counsel and Acting Chief Executive. To see the presentation, please click here.

Further information about the seminars can be found in the members’ section of our website. This includes:

  • questions & answers from all sessions
  • supplementary materials from the workshops
  • the legal presentation “Dealing with the Charity Commission”
  • a public benefit activities list

We would like to thank everyone who took part to make each of the three days such a success, and we hope all delegates found the seminars to be useful and stimulating. Although we have received evaluation forms from most people, if you attended and have yet to complete one, it can be downloaded here.
