Foyle College and Londonderry High School, amalgamated in 1976 to form Foyle and Londonderry College. Foyle College began as The Free School of Londonderry in 1617 founded by Mathias Springham, Master of the Merchant Taylors' Company. Londonderry High School was set up in 1877.
