Bedales has been the liberal alternative since 1893 (co-ed since 1898). Age 3 to 18; 70% of seniors board. We are disciplined but not rule-bound (no uniform!); relaxed but respectful (everyone uses first names). Creative arts and outdoor work are strong. We develop independent thinkers, especially through our own courses that replace duller GCSEs. Our students are at ease in themselves.

Children at Churcher's thrive in an atmosphere of high expectation but even higher achievement in a happy, well-disciplined and caring environment. By developing the full academic, creative and sporting talents of the pupils, within the context of social awareness, our aim is to fully prepare them for all they will face in this dynamic and challenging world.
