Bury Grammar School Girls was founded in 1884 as the Bury High School for Girls and amalgamated, a few years later, with the Bury Grammar School (Boys). The school maintains high academic standards and traditional grammar school values whilst encouraging each girl to develop her individual talents and abilities as far as she can in a lively environment which responds to the challenge of change.
