Moorfield School prides iteself on its academic excellence and friendly, caring atmosphere, specifically for s. It has a strong 'family' feel and lays particular emphasis on consideration for others both in and beyond the school community. Independence and individuality are encouraged and confidence nurtured. High standards of literacy and numeracy are the academic bedrock enabling all s to enter well-respected senior schools at 11+. Success is also achieved in music, art, drama and sport, with s participating in a wide variety of local events. An all-round broad curriculum is followed with specialist teaching in small classes. Excellent facilities include a purpose-built nursery unit, which gives s a seamless education from rising 3 years, and a fully equipped IT suite and many specialist subject rooms. A full range of extra-curricular activities enables each to develop her interests; pre and after school care help busy families make the most of each day. Moorfield is an Education Charitable Trust for s aged 2 to 11 and a full member of IAPS. Accommodated in a large house, the school is situated in a beautiful setting on the edge of Ilkley Moor.
