Three New Staff at Independent Schools Council

The Independent Schools Council (ISC) today welcomes three new staff
Dr Steven King joins ISC as Senior Press Officer in day-to-day charge of media relations. He works alongside Development Director, Sarah Tunstall.
Steven was educated at The Leas School, Hoylake, The Grange School, Hartford and The Queen's University of Belfast where he took a First Class degree in Political Science before gaining his DPhil at The University of Ulster.
From 1996 to 1998, Steven was one of the negotiators at the Northern Ireland Multi-Party Talks, responsible for issues relating to equality, cultural rights and human rights. In 1998, he became Political Adviser and Press Secretary to David Trimble, First Minister of Northern Ireland. Steven is also a Senator at Queen's University, retiring on 31st December this year, after 9 years' service.
Judith Fenn joins ISC as Director of Induction and Recruitment Programmes, taking on the induction work managed by Sue Campion who is retiring. Judith also has a wide brief including teacher recruitment, the graduate teaching programme, and issues relating to data protection and the rights of the child. Judith was educated at Robinson College, Cambridge and has been teaching in the independent sector for 14 years. Until the end of June this year, Judith was Deputy Head at Godolphin and Latymer School in West London.
Judith will be assisted by Wendy Sutton who joins ISC as Executive Assistant. Wendy will also act as PA to Jonathan Shephard. Wendy was educated in South London and is currently taking a course at The Open University in Classical Studies. Prior to joining ISC, Wendy was responsible, with one other person, for the administration of 150 conferences a year.
Welcoming the appointments, ISC General Secretary Jonathan Shephard said, "Judith, Wendy and Steven all have distinguished careers to date and I am delighted that they have chosen to join ISC at an exciting stage in its development."
