OFT investigation into independent schools

An ISC spokesman today made the following statement: "The Office of Fair Trading has indicated that it will be issuing in a week or so its provisional conclusions into alleged breaches of competition law by a number of charitable independent schools.

"On current timetables, the deadline for receipt of representations from schools would be some time in March 2006. The OFT will then have several more months to reconsider its position. The matter is, therefore, likely to proceed for many months yet."
