The Independent Schools Council provides great advice to parents to help them choose the right schools for their children

14 January 2010

In 2009 over 4000 parents took advantage of the Independent Schools Council information & advice service (ISCias) by phone or email, over 5000 carried out individual schools searches using the ISC website to locate appropriate schools, and the Parent Zone on ISC’s website achieved some 220,000 individual page views.

The Independent Schools Council (ISC) represents over 1280 independent schools in the UK and abroad and is therefore ideally placed to act as the point of entry for the sector, giving parents reliable and useful information based on experience and sound knowledge of independent education.

ISCias runs a free information service to help parents, schools and other organisations. The team can be contacted on either 0845 SCHOOLS (7246657) or information@isc.co.uk.

The ISC website helps fulfil our goal of informing and guiding parents with pages on bursaries and scholarships, special educational needs (SEN), guides to applying for a place at an independent school; explanations of key terms; hints and tips for open days; and blogs on topics relevant to the sector.

From the ISC website’s Parent Zone, parents can go directly to school websites or read the latest inspection reports. In addition ISC has a facility on its website allowing parents to search for schools based on their own personal and specific criteria.

ISC seeks to provide objective information about all of its schools, whilst guiding parents to ask schools the right questions so that they may make the right choice for their children. ISC is ‘the place to go’ for free impartial information about accredited independent schools. Why not see if we can help you?
