The advice is helpful for schools wishing to understand the new requirements to notify and obtain written permission from parents regarding the use of their child’s biometric data.These are in addition to existing data protection requirements, and will be brought in from September 2013. We have suggested some ways in which the advice can be expanded and clarified.
