Disqualification under the Childcare Act 2006
The Department for Education published statutory guidance under the Childcare Act 2006 at the end of February.
The guidance replaced the advice that was published in October last year and whilst it is an improvement on the advice there are still concerns that remain.
ISC continues to lobby for regulatory change and was pleased to have sight of the letter the Secretary of State for Education sent to NAHT. In the letter she stated that she recognises the “concerns about the operation of the arrangements” and “would propose to take early action in the next parliament if the evidence suggests there is a case for further reform”.
