Registering an NQT
In January 2010, ISCtip launched a new 'paperless' online system for managing the administration of the induction process for NQTs in England. This only affects new registrations from January onwards - any NQT who was registered prior to Spring term will continue to have paper assessments submitted to us at the end of each assessment period.
To access the NQT Manager please visit isc.nqtmanager.com
Once you have completed your details, and ISCtip have authorised your registration, you will be sent an email confirming your username and password. When you first log onto the system, you will be asked to complete your digital signature information; this will be used each time you register a new NQT or 'sign' an assessment form. You can click on the 'login details' tab at the top of the page to change your password should you wish to do so.
You will be prompted to create a record for the Head of the school; they will then be sent an email with a username and password, asking them to create a digital signature.
The 'Dashboard' on the NQT Manager homepage will indicate any outstanding/incomplete registrations or assessments, and the system will also send reminder emails for missing information, or upcoming assessments. From the Dashboard, you can also submit or view helpdesk requests or 'NQT Alerts' - through which you can contact ISCtip for urgent help regarding any NQT you have concerns about.
In the Help & Support section of the isc.nqtmanager.com website, there are video tutorials available for all aspects of the NQT Manager - please check this first should you have any queries about using the site.
To register an NQT, click 'Add New' on the Dashboard and complete the form as instructed. (Please note, that should you attempt to register an NQT 'between terms', ISCtip will amend the registration to either the start of the coming term, or half term, whichever is closest). You will also be asked for the NQT's home address, so certificates may be sent to them directly. A registration will not be completed until the Head has logged onto the system and digitally signed the form. Until this has been signed, the registration will show as 'incomplete' on the Dashboard. ISCtip will then authorise or reject the registration form (again, this will be updated on your Dashboard) - if the form is rejected, please amend and resubmit. Once fully registered, the NQT will receive an email with their login details - they too will need to create a digital signature to sign assessments. The system links directly to the GTCE database, so you must know the NQT's Teacher Reference Number before a registration can be completed. Here is a list of questions you will be asked when registering an NQT.
Finally, please could you ensure that the email address support@nqtmanager.com is added to your address book, so it is not marked as spam or junk by your email system.
