School Fee Assistance

The cost of school fees is always a worry for any parent. Luckily, help is at hand in the form of independent school scholarships and means-tested bursaries. There are a plethora of options available and many families already take advantage of the £490 million allocated by ISC schools each year to their pupils.

Around one in three pupils at ISC schools receives assistance with school fee costs with the vast majority of these awards coming directly from the school itself. Indeed, most ISC schools offer bursaries, scholarships or both.

Bursaries tend to be means-assessed on a financial basis and will require the parent or guardian to fill out a financial declaration form to establish whether the student meets the necessary criteria.

Scholarships are also available for pupils who are particularly strong in one area but more recently the majority of funding has shifted towards means-tested bursaries.

The Head and Bursar of the school will be able to provide information about any such bursaries and eligibility.
