Scholarships

Scholarships are financial awards for academic performance or on the basis of notable ability in music, art, sports or some other specialism. Independent schools also offer scholarships based on all-round merit. There are also school fee awards for drama, design and technology.

The actual amount of school fee assistance available from scholarships can vary from as little as 5% to considerably more. The school’s registrar and/or Bursar will be able to tell you the specifics of any financial award as school scholarships differ from school to school.

Senior schools tend to offer the most ability-assessed scholarships on entry at 11+, 13+ and into the sixth form. There tends to be a special scholarship exam for pupils and more details can be found out from the school directly.
