The Independent Schools Council is a politically independent, not-for-profit organisation representing 1,270 independent schools educating more than 500,000 children. It exists to promote choice, diversity and excellence in education, developing talent at all levels of ability and from all backgrounds.
There are a number of ISC schools catering for pupils with special educational needs.

Withdrawal System Schools where dyslexic pupils are withdrawn from appropriately selected lessons or for specialist tuition from a teacher qualified in teaching dyslexic pupils. Dyslexia unit Schools with a designated unit or centre that provides specialist tuition on a small group or indiviudal basis, according to need.
