Academic Scholarships
Academic scholarships are perhaps one of the most talked about forms of school fee assistance and can range from a 10% discount off school fees to much more. Academic scholarships are not means tested but often can be combined with a means tested bursary. To obtain an academic scholarship, students are required to sit an internal exam which the school will mark against their own criteria. It is always a good idea to speak with schools directly about the assessment process.
ISC does not provide assistance with funding but you may wish to contact the following:
- ISC’s Educational Grants Advice Service (grants information and advice): 01932 865619 (9am-11am, Monday - Friday)
- Educational Trusts’ Forum: http://www.educational-grants.org/ (offer advice on possible funding)
Do be aware that charitable trusts and grant organisations have strict criteria and usually require social need to be the contributing factor to the application for funds.
