School Information
Established in 1977, The British International School of Stavanger in South West Norway is an independent non-profit making foundiation administered by a board of Governors. It is situated approximately 8 kilometres south of Stavanger overlooking Gandsfjord.

The school is modern and complies strictly with the design and safety requirements of the Norwegian authorities. In all, there are 24 classrooms - many with interactive whiteboard technology, smaller rooms for group work and special rooms for special education, art, music, science, French and ICT. There is a fully equipped and spacious gymnasium, assembly hall and two modern libraries.

The main educational aim of the school is to meet the needs and expectations of parents wishing to have their children educated in an English school by providing them with a personalised curriculum steeped in the proven aspects of British education. This not only covers the requirements of UK National Curriculum, but also the International Primary Currriculum and the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. This ensures that when the time comes pupils are equipped to transfer to British or international schools across the world.

The Principal puts great emphasis on developing the individual qualities and talents of children at The British International School of Stavanger following policies that encourage children to have confidence in their own abilities and to develop a caring attitude towards others.
