School Information
The British School of Paris provides, in a caring environment, a gold standard British-style education for international students from ages 3-18, to enable them to become good citizens and to lead fulfilling lives. With over 50 nationalities represented, The British School of Paris promotes high academic achievement while developing the whole person. Our broad and rigorous programme, combined with a holistic approach to teaching, ideally prepares students for university and nurtures a lifelong love of learning. It is a non-profit Association in France and is managed by a Board of Governors under the patronage of His Excellency the British Ambassador.
Situated on a most beautiful stretch of the Seine River in the outskirts of the city, studies are based on the British National Curriculum with emphasis on English, maths, science and the French language. Various sports, music and drama, together with many extra-curricular activities are also provided. A brand new purpose built Junior School, bristling with new technology provides the utmost in comfort, security and versatility. The Senior School features four spacious modern laboratories and associated practical area, a library, music practice and recording studios, as well as a sports hall.
Pupils are prepared for the GCSE and AS and A Level examinations in a comprehensive range of subjects. All courses are supplemented by a programme of Personal, Social and Health Education.
The British School is co-educational throughout, with almost equal numbers of boys and girls. Each section has about four hundred pupils, with a four form entry into the Senior School.
Small overall numbers, modest class sizes and a supportive pastoral care system, mean that new pupils integrate quickly and find themselves well motivated in their work. Our holistic approach enables all students to meet their full potential, academic or otherwise. The happiness, well-being and successful development of all boys and girls are of the highest importance, and the excellent examination results of our pupils show it is a policy that works.
