The Inspection Process
Inspections normally occur every three years. ISI inspection teams are drawn from a pool of serving or recently retired independent school headteachers and senior teachers, who have successfully undertaken a training course. They are led by reporting inspectors, who are usually retired HMI, an Ofsted Registered Inspector, or a very experienced serving or recently retired headteacher or senior teacher.
