‘Too young’ to buy Christmas crackers

A 22-year-old university student has been stopped from buying a box of Christmas crackers under the Explosives Act 1875. Under the act, customers under the age of 16 cannot purchase Christmas crackers or party poppers. The student could not prove her age.
