Pupil-teacher ratios in schools improving, figures show

Provisional figures released by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) indicate improving pupil-teacher ratios in both primary and secondary state schools. The numbers also show that the number of vacant posts for teachers in England's schools has gone up by a quarter in one year.
